BNG 2017 AWARDS

Similar to a typical competition, Battle of the Next Generation will provide dancers that place 1st, 1st Runner-Up, and 2nd Runner-Up in each age division with custom one-of-a-kind BNG merchandise! In addition, our Top 5 dancers in each age division will receive a scholarship towards our next annual Battle of the Next Generation event.

In addition to the prizes specifically for dancers that recieve the highest marks, we provide other scholarships and opportunities for all dancers regardless of their totalled score. The dancers that recieve these scholarships/opportunities will be decided by the entire judging panel and awarded to each individual dancer at the final awards session.

da Costa Talent Agency Private Interview 

da Costa Talent Agency is offering a one-on-one interview with a Principle Agent for one lucky dancer. da Costa Talent provides dedicated and effective representation to some of Canada's leading actors, dancers, singers, and world class choreographers for every area of the industry.

Paul Becker Pop-Up Masterclass Series

As one of the world's most sought after choreographers, Paul Becker has worked on hundreds of TV shows and films, and with artists such as Kanye West, Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, and more. He has developed a Pop-Up Masterclass Series with an astounding professional faculty that teaches classes across Canada, and gives dancers the opportunity to learn from and audition for the biggest choreographers in the country. At BNG, six lucky dancers will be awarded scholarships for Paul Becker's next Masterclass workshop in Toronto, ON!

Private Coaching with Amy Wright

Amy Wright is the producer, choreographer, and casting director of the hit television series 'The Next Step'. With an endless list of other impressive credentials, we are lucky to have her on the faculty for BNG 2017! At the event, one lucky dancer will be hand-selected by Amy Wright herself for a private, one-on-one coaching session to prepare for a casting in dance, singing, or acting! Get the inside scoop on the do's and don'ts of a casting or audition from the incredible Amy Wright!

JDX Creative Closed Audition Entry

JDX Creative, owned and directed by BNG faculty member Jeff Dimitriou, is a production company that specializes in creating artistic performances for stage, corporate events, live shows, and film. JDX Creative hosts closed casting calls for all of their performances, that are restricted to a very elite group of dancers in the Toronto area. One lucky dancer from BNG 2017 will be selected by Jeff Dimitriou to participate in a closed audition hosted by JDX Entertainment for an upcoming performance opportunity! Get exposed and take advantage of this opportunity to audition for Jeff Dimitriou's prestigious company!

Beast Boys Workshop

Choreographer, casting director, and producer Amy Wright is giving away one scholarship to an upcoming Beast Boys workshop, an intensive for male dancers who want to destroy their next audition. Beast Boys is a dance revolution for male dancers to transform their skills and up their game, learn new tricks, slay at casting, and give them an advantage over the pack. Learn from some of the industry's top male dancers on how to stand out at your next audition!

Rutherford Movement Exchange

Under the direction of Stephanie Rutherford, award-winning Canadian teacher and choreographer, Rutherford Movement Exchange is a professional dance company that focuses on bridging the gap between human performance and technical execution. RME not only creates performance opportunities for dancers, but also offers an intensive with an outstanding faculty to educate young students. BNG faculty member Stephanie Rutherford will be selecting one lucky dancer to receive a full scholarship to an upcoming Rutherford Movement Exchange Intensive!

Photoshoot with Anthony Fascione

Toronto photographer, Anthony Fascione, will be one of two photographers present at the Battle of the Next Generation event. Throughout the day he will be roaming the event taking photos for purchase and selecting dancers that inspire his art. Finally during the awards portion of the night he will provide a selected dancer with a free photoshoot opportunity!

Photoshoot with Emily Ferris

Waterloo photographer, Emily Ferris, will be the other esteemed photographer present at the event. She will be taking all of the action shots during the audition and competition portions of the day. Emily has also been so generous as to provide multiple dancers with a free photoshoot opportunity!

Private Meeting with Addy Chan from Booked

Booked Workshop provides dancers with the audition experience and business of dance. It is a workshop geared towards new dancers breaking into the industry and experienced performers wanting to brush up on their audition techniques. Learn how to deliver in the audition room with tips and tricks from our very own faculty member, Addy Chan!

Artist Simply Human Dance Convention Scholarship

ASH’s mission is to provide an unequaled dance experience that challenges dancers as artists, and inspires them to be the best they can be in both dance and life. Our faculty is passionate about teaching and supporting the dancers, helping them to reach their full potential and growth in every class. This fantastic convention has been kind enough to award 2 lucky dancers with half scholarships to their 2017-2018 tour.

VIEW Dance Convention Scholarship

View Dance Convention The VIEW Dance Convention offers dancers a one-day workshop in Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Hip Hop, and Ballet taught by an incredible & passionate Faculty. They have been so kind as to provide two FULL Convention Scholarship for their Toronto Event in Fall 2017. In addition, VIEW will also be providing an invitation to one lucky dancer at BNG for their program in GREECE in the Summer of 2018, during which dancers will have the opportunity to train in a week-long intensive and perform in a professional production!

The Underground Dance Centre Class Scholarship

Born out of the needs and necessities of the Toronto Dance Community, the Underground Dance Centre offers the highest quality dance training and choreographers in a luxurious studio located in the heart of downtown Toronto. The Underground is generously providing several 5 Class Card Scholarships.

Be Discovered Scholarship

Be Discovered has provided 6 partial scholarships for their week long dance intensives in LA, New York and Florida.  Their intensives provide training as well as opportunities of a lifetime such as dancing at Disneyland and Disney World, appearing in a dance music video, performing at the world famous Carnival Choreographer's Ball in L.A. and N.Y. and much more.

Rhythm Dance Competition Solo Entry 

Directors of Rhythm Dance, Nancy MacSporran and Donna Schnarr, have provided dancers with 28 seasons of professional, enjoyable dance competitions where their main focus is a positive environment and strong organization that shows respect for your time. One lucky dancer in each age division will receive a free solo entry to one Rhythm Dance Competition 2018.

Embrace Dance Convention Scholarship

This innovative convention/competition is all about allowing dancers to embrace their individuality. BNG will be awarding three of our dancers with partial scholarships to their upcoming Hamilton Convention in Fall 2017. Experience a day of education, artistry, and fun at the upcoming Embrace Dance Convention!

SHOCK Dance Challenge

The incomparable dance competition experience that features 5 judges and the ultimate SHOCK Showdown! At SHOCK, every dancer is a winner, and can walk away with a variety of workshop scholarships and cash prizes. BNG will be awarding both a Junior and Senior dancer with a free solo entrance fee for the SHOCK 2017 Competition Tour! Are you fit for the challenge?!?

International Dance Teaching Standards

IDTS is a program originating from British Columbia, and is designed by dance teaching professionals working at the studio level who are also engaged in dance and movement science research at universities. The program is divided into three levels, with courses covering topics such as: Anatomy, Biomechanics, Skill Acquisition, Nutrition, Choreographic Composition, Team Cohesion, Improvisation, Dance History, Injuries, and the Competitive Dance Industry. At BNG 2017, three aspiring dance teachers will receive full scholarships for ALL THREE LEVELS of the program, worth $1000!

HALFWITS Clothing Package

HALFWITS is a Toronto­ based contemporary lifestyle clothing brand, driven by the same grit found at the heart of hardcore, hip­-hop, skateboarding, and punk. HALF WIT, represents the path, plan, and our need to rethink potential and possibility. HALF HEART is defined by our full unyielding will to drive forward. They aim to create and craft their clothing to evoke equal parts heart and wit within the wearer. Dancers in each age division will receive an amazing clothing package.

NightFire Merchandise Package

Clothing designer Lukas Mihas will be providing two select dancers with an incredible NightFire Merchandise Package. His limited edition, unique designs are a must have for every dancer! Check out some of his creations on instagram @lukamihas.

Usama Khalid Photography

For Usama Khalid artistry and creativity have always been his niche, something that's been stuck with him for as long as I can remember. He's a graphic designer, illustrator, photographer, and writer. These four things are what drive his passions and his professional future. This year at BNG Usama will be providing 2 lucky dancers with a free creative photoshoot!

Millennium Dance Complex Toronto

The Millennium Dance Complex is known worldwide as the premiere studio in the commercial dance world, and is dedicated to the highest level of service and instruction. MDC provides beginners through experts, the opportunity to study with top industry professional and benefit from a pool of extensive knowledge in the dance world. The studio has held rehearsals for some of the biggest stars in show business, including Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Usher, and more! We are so lucky that MDC is opening a Toronto location this upcoming fall, and BNG will be providing EIGHT lucky dancers with class scholarships for their new studio location ranging from 5-20 classes!

Canadian Dance Expo

At the Canadian Dance Expo's Student Experience, dancers have the opportunity to be instructed by some of Canada's top dance professionals while making new friends! The event includes a variety of sweat-inducing dance classes, life-altering discussions, and the inspiration you need to top up your dance skills! At BNG, we will be giving EIGHT lucky dancers partial scholarships to the upcoming Canadian Dance Expo to learn from some of Toronto's best instructors!
